Evacuated Tallahassee -> Kennesaw, GA for Hurricane Irma, and today now that the majority of the gross weather cleared up, headed to one of the “major” attractions in Kennesaw: the National Battlefield which is owned/operated by the National Park Service. Kennesaw Mountain features three historic Civil War battle sites, and around 17 miles of trails; we hiked the roughly 1.4mi long trail up to the ~1800′ peak, then back down the access road.
